Update Bells & Whistles
To make sure you're using the most recent version available Bells & Whistles will automatically check for updates each week. There are two types of new versions:
Minor updates
- These versions are released with small fixes and additions. For minor updates only the build number changes. For example, if the installed version is
6.0.512
then a minor update can have version6.0.520
. Minor updates are always free. Upgrades
-
Versions including new features and/or big changes to the existing features are released as upgrades. In this case the major version number changes as well. For example, if the installed version is
6.0.664
then an upgrade can have version7.0.702
.Upgrades are free if the license is still in the
free upgrades period
(less than 1 year old forstandard
licenses or less than 2 years old for2 years free upgrades
licenses). A license out of thefree upgrades period
will have to be upgraded for a fee before it can be used with a new major version. The date until a license can be upgraded for free is displayed in License Details window which can be accessed with License Details button from Bells & Whistles toolbar in Outlook main window.
When a new version is found Bells & Whistles will show a list of changes and give you the option to install it. Automatic checks for new versions can be disabled by using Check For Updates button from Bells & Whistles toolbar in Outlook main window.
The latest version can also be manually installed after downloading the installer.
