Bells & Whistles alerts

Before an email is sent Bells & Whistles checks the conditions enabled by the options in this group and if needed an alert popup is displayed with options to continue sending the email or stop it. Also, each alert popup includes an option (Don't ask me again) to disable the alert without going into options window.

Use New, Reply and Forward options to configure for which email types the alerts will be active.

Attachments

With Alert on missing attachment(s) option enabled and a customizable list of keywords for emails that should include attachments you can make sure the emails won't be sent without any files attached. If at least one of the keywords are present in the email body but there are no attachments the following alert popup will be displayed:

Alert on attachments bigger than option notifies you about the attachments in an email bigger that the set limit (in MB). The alert popup displayed when attachments too big are detected includes the names and the size limit:

Recipients

To make sure you're replying to all recipients enable Notify me to reply to all addresses option. If the original email for a reply has multiple recipients but you have used Reply command then this alert popup is displayed:

Bells & Whistles reply all alert

As an alternative the option Automatically reply to all in Mail group can be used to automatically use Reply All for emails with multiple recipients.

For Alert on replying to automated messages option Bells & Whistles uses a customizable list of keywords to detect if the recipient of an email is an unmonitored email address. If at least one of the recipients contains one of the keywords for automated email addresses this alert popup will be displayed:

Alert on messages with more than X recipients option can help prevent sending emails to a large number of recipients especially when replying. For Outlook Contact Groups (distribution lists) the total number of members is counted. When the limit is exceeded the following alert popup is shown:

Subject and body

Sending an email without a subject increases the chance to be ignored. Enable Alert on blank message subject to get this alert popup before sending an email with an empty subject:

Alert on messages written in ALL CAPS gives this alert popup if the email content is written only with capital letters:
